Obituary: Leland Robert Coffey, 11 Aug 1999 Source: Waynesboro News Virginian - August 13, 1999 Contributor: Oscar Nuckols ----------------------------------------------------- LYNDHURST -- Leland Robert Coffey, 62, of Route 1 Box 430, Lyndhurst died at 2:10 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, 1999 at Augusta Medical Center. He was born Friday, October 9, 1936 in Augusta County, son of the late Fred Ray and Vernice E. Coffey. Mr. Coffey was a member of Mount Top Christian Church and was retired from General Electric as an assistant foreman with 18 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Landon Ray Coffey, Sr. Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Henderson Coffey; three sons, Wendell D. Coffey and wife Tonya L. of Waynesboro, Robert S. Coffey and wife, Wanda of Lyndhurst and Darrell L. Coffey and his fiancée Karen Campbell of Fishersville; one daughter, Tammi J. Coffey and fiancé Preston Fry of Lyndhurst; seven grandchildren, Angelia M. Coffey, Brittney N. Coffey, Sarah E. Coffey, Nadalie B. Coffey, Travis L. Coffey, Lindsay A. Coffey, Daniel A. Wade and special friend Dolly Rodgers. A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Funeral Service by Pastors William Hatter and Alvin Graber. Burial will follow at Mount Top Christian Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Harlow, James Liptrap, Douglas Henderson, Steve Coffey, Kenneth Coffey, Homer Weaver, Maphis Henderson, Melvin Henderson, Scottie Via, and Robert Henderson. Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
