Obituary: Peter Hilman Coffey, 10 Mar 1999 Source: Waynesboro News Virginian - March 11,1999 Contributor: Oscar Nuckols ----------------------------------------------------- Peter Hilman Coffey, 60, of 363 Kingsbury Drive, died Wednesday (March 10, 1999) at Augusta Medical Center, Fishersville. He was born Feb. 14, 1939, in Augusta County, the son of Jessie Ray Coffey and the late Dewey Love Coffey. He was a member of the Waynesboro Mennonite Church and was serving as church administrator. He was employed with CFW and retired March 1, 1996, with 36 years of service as an outside plant engineer and construction manager. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Brenda Lawhorne Coffey; three sons, Dennis Hilman Coffey and wife, Paula, of Waynesboro, Stephen Robert Martin and wife, Catherine, of Richmond, and Peter Whitney Coffey, of the home; two brothers and their wives, Dewey L. and Phyllis Coffey Jr., and Donald F. and Judy Coffey; two sisters, Mrs. Bobby (Janet) Rutherford and Helen Lipsky; three grandsons, Barrett Hilman Coffey, Aaron Winston Coffey and Robert Mitchell Martin, and one uncle, Wilson Coffey. A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Waynesboro Mennonite Church by Pastor Stanlee D. Kauffman and the Rev. Charles Ramsey. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Charles "Bo" Bowers, Steve Barnett, Ron Denney, Dale Coffey, Gerald Hersey, Brian Carey, Clifford Coffey and Dr. Charles R. Robinson. Honorary pallbearers Dr. Thomas Gorsuch, Dr. Cynthia Spalding, Dr. Robert Pritchard, Dr. John Zadrozny, Roger Davis and friends attending the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Reynolds Funeral Service of Waynesboro. The family requests memorial donations be sent to the Waynesboro Mennonite Church Building Fund or the Waynesboro First Aid Crew, P.O.
