Obituary: Zandy A. Coffey, 21 Jan 1999 Source: Waynesboro News Virginia - ~22 Jan 1999 Contributor: Oscar Nuckols ----------------------------------------------------- VERONA - Mr. Zandy Aaron Coffey, 87, of 114 Lee St., died Thursday morning (Jan. 21, 1999) at Augusta Medical Center Fishersville. He was born Jan. 7, 1912, in Augusta Springs, a son of the late Virgil L. and Alice Hewitt Coffey. Mr. Coffey was retired from C&P Telephone Co. of Staunton. He was of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Blackwell Coffey; a daughter, Mrs. Donald L. (Janet) Layman, a son, Lloyd L. Coffey; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Augusta Memorial Park by the Rev. Michael Ray Fitzgerald, Ph.D. Honorary pallbearers will be the Pioneers of UP Telephone Co. attending the service. There will be no formal visitation or viewing, however, those desiring may call at 4608 Lee Highway, Verona. The family wishes memorial donations to go to the Staunton- Augusta Rescue Squad, Memorial Trust Fund, P.O. Box 2566, Staunton,Va. 24402-2566.
