Obituary: Hattie Coffey Demastus Source: Staunton News Leader, 24 Mar 1991 Contributor: Wayne Coffey --------------------------------------------------- LYNDHURST -- Hattie (Coffey) Demastus, 84, of. Rt. 1, Lyndhurst, died Saturday morning (March 23, 1991) at University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born June 26, 1906 in Nelson County, a daughter of Joseph and Tereasa Coffey. She was a member of Mountain Top Christian Church. Her husband, Gordon H. Demastus, died May 23, 1974. Surviving are a daughter, Susie, Bridge, and two sons, Austin and William C. Demastus, all of Lyndhurst; a brother, Saylor Coffey of Love; five grandchildren; and five, great-grandchildren. A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Waynesboro chapel of Etter Funeral Home by the Revs. Ray Coffey, Stan Shirk and Charles Ramsey, with burial at Mountain Top Christian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law, Jerry and Gary Demastus, Dave Yingling Warren Hatter, Ed Fitzgerald, Melvin Glass, Jeff Brown and Neil Bridge.
