Contributor: Oscar Nuckols -------------------------------------------------------- Minor Wilton Ramsey, 74, of 49 Meadowbrook Dr., Stuarts Draft, died at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 13, 1999) at Augusta Medical Center, Fishersville. He was born January 21, 1925, in Montebello, a son of Earl Minor and Annie Myrtle Layton Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey was employed as a truck driver by Smith's Transfer Corp. for 35 years. He was a member of Greenville Baptist Church where he served faithfully. Survivors include his wife, Margie Deaver Ramsey; three brothers, Marion Lee Ramsey and William C. Ramsey, both of Prince Frederick, Md., and Roy J. Ramsey of Route 2, Churchville; two sisters, Clara Bell Ramsey Hollifield of Route 1 Vesuvius, and Mary Ramsey Bryant of Route 1, Montebello; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Boyd Ray Ramsey. A service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 16, 1999) in the Henry Funeral Home by the Revs. David A. Anderson and Eicky Woodson. Burial will fol-low in Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be C.S. Price, Kennard W. Campbell, Lyle Sweet, Garfield Painter, Lloyd W Earhart, Eldon Bradley, Jerry Mays, and Fred H. Painter. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Teamsters Local 29 Retirees Association and neighbors and friends attending the service. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
