Obituary: Emma Jane Harris Waterman Source: Staunton newspaper, she died 17 Apr 1917. Contributor: Wayne Coffey --------------------------------------------------- Mrs. E. J. Waterman, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. P. W. Arnold, last Tuesday morning, was before her marriage, Miss Emma Harris, daughter of Col. James W. Harris, a well known Augusta county man. She was a devout Christian woman being a member of the Central Methodist church of this city and a woman of strong mentality, cheerful, loving disposition and endearing personality, a devoted mother, faithful to every relation of life and her friends were numberless. Her life was noble and pure and those who knew her best feel that they "shall not look upon her like again" that the passing years have been sweetened by her presence and her gentle example will ever remain green in their memory. Mrs. Waterman is survived by the following children: Mrs. C. M. Coffey of Snyder, Mrs. P. W. Arnold, of Staunton, Mrs. J. F. McNamara, of Staunton, and Miss Lucy Waterman, of Staunton and by three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Edgar Nicker, of Hinton, W. Va., Mrs. Hazlett, of Ceredo, W. Va., Mrs. Callahan, of Hinton and Charles P. Harris, of New York city. The funeral was conducted Wednesday at 4 o’clock by the pastor Rev.
