Will of THOMAS BREDEN Source: Augusta Co., VA Will Bk. 5, 1772-1778, P. 13 Contributor: ---------------------------------------------------- In the name of God amen this twenty eight day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Seventy two I Thomas Breden of the County of Augusta and Colony of Virginia yeoman being sound of Body and of Perfect mind and Memory knowing that it is for all men once to die and Apprehending my time near at hand do make this my Last Will and Testament in Manner and form following Impremis I recommend my soul to the infinite mercy of God my Body to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors hereinafter named and as touching my Temporal Estate I give & dispose of those as followeth Viz Item I will and order that my funeral expenses and Just debts be first paid out of my Estate Item all the residue of my Estate personal I do give and devise and bequeath unto my loving wife Catharine Breatton and to her heirs forever Item I do order and allow a Certain Entry of Land lying on Stewarts Creek at the fork of the road leading to Dickensons and Capt Lewis to be S---d to the best Advantage and sold for the use of my wife & children to be equally divided amongst them Item I will and order my wife Catherine to have the hole and sole management of Binding and Puting out of my children to the best Advantage and to such Treads as she shall se fit for the Benefit of sd children in Frederick County or Elswhere And Lastly I hereby renounce all former wills and of this my last will & Testament I do nominate and appoint the aforesaid Catherine Bratton to Executrix Witness my hand & seal the day and year above said Signed Sealed Published and delivered by the said Thomas Bratton the testators John Thomas Breden and/for his Last Will and Testament in presence of us James Steel Robert Scott James Hill At a court cond & held for Augusta County August the 20th 1772 ************************************************************************ USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by any other organization or persons.
