Wood Cemetery Location: 4 miles east of Millboro Springs, Virginia on Route #42, on right side of road traveling east. Bath County OWNERS: It was purchased by James Bratton in 1779 from James Rhea. DESCRIPTION: This is a public cemetery, fenced in and in good condition. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Inscriptions on tombstones: Flora Lewis daughter of G.W. & R.A. McDonald born Aug. 12, 1857 Sacred to the memory of James Bratton who departed this life on the 29th day of June 1828, in the 82nd year of his life. In the memory of Rebeckah Bratton who died on the 4th day of Jan. 1834 Sacred in the memory of Lewis Bratton Who was born on the 2nd day of Nov. 1801 and died the 14th day of May 1838 Age 26 yrs 7 mo. 12 days. Faga farm Lexington, Virginia John McKee son of A & M.J.T. Bratton born April 7th, 1832 died June 8, 1859 Thanks be to God who givith us the victory through our Lord, Jesus Christ. Samuel B. son of a. & W.J.T. Bratton died July 13, 1859 Weep not for me Margaret A. Daughter of A. & W.J.T.
