BATH COUNTY, VA - CEMETERIES – Crawford Cemetery ----¤¤¤---- Source: Library of Virginia Digital Collection LVA Titled Files: Survey Report, Old Crawford cemetery: 1936 Nov. 10 Research made by Russell G. Wood Cemetery Location: 1.5 miles west of Millboro Springs, Virginia on Route #501, facing Edmund house, 300 yards to right on top of ridge. Bath County OWNERS: (1936) H. D. Edmund DESCRIPTION: This is the old Crawford cemetery; private, and in a run down condition – has grown up. It is located on the top of a hill. It has no tombstones to mark the graves – just long rocks at each end of the them. There is one grave that has a stone wall 1.5 feet high the full length of the grave with a long rock placed on top of this. It is quite a curiosity. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: There are no inscriptions on the rock markers that can be made out. There are about ten graves here. We have learned some of the names of Crawfords which are: William, John, Nancy, Samuel, Andrew, Jean, Martha and Mary. These names were taken from old Crawford Bible which only gives the births.
