Wood Cemetery Location: 1.7 miles west of McClung, Virginia on Route #301. Turn left on unmarked road .5 mile to Larne’s barn. .4 mile south of barn on hill. Bath County OWNERS: (1936) Mrs. E.M. Larne DESCRIPTION: Is private cemetery, closed in and in grown up condition. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The Larne family is derived from Isaac, who settled near Winchester, Virginia in 1738. Abraham settled in Augusta County. The Larne’s have been very prominent in Bath County. This is known as old Larne Cemetery. There are no old tombstones, just rock markers to the old graves.
