Wood Cemetery Location: .5 mile west of Millboro, Virginia Route #633 Bath County OWNERS: (1936) James Smith DESCRIPTION: Private cemetery, in very poor condition. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Lewis Loan and his wife were buried in this cemetery prior to 1860. Lewis Loan was one of the pioneer settlers of Bath, who owned 250 acres of land, and helped develop Millboro. There are no tombstones in this cemetery, just stone markers. SOURCES OF INFORMATION: Information from J.H. Dougherty 992 West Drive, Woodruff, Indianapolis, Indiana. Mr. Dougherty’s father purchased this place from Lewis Loan in 1854.
