Wood Cemetery Location: 2 miles south of Millboro Springs, Virginia on Route #42; turn west at top of hill on Dickinson road .5 mile on bank to left of road. Bath County DESCRIPTION: This is known as the Sitlington private cemetery. It has grown up and been neglected; has not been used for 35 years. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Inscriptions on tombstones: Capt. Andrew Sitlington Born Dec. 10, 1785 Died Dec. 13, 1863 (other side of marker) Nancy Carlisle His wife Born Oct. 31, 1797 Died Feb. 20, 1833 In Memory of Mary Elizabeth Porter Who departed this life 30th of March 1848 Aged 26 years 10 mo. The devoted mother and fine companion This is my commandment and that ye love one another as I have loved you. John 15: 12 There lies the loveliest chief of all mine earthly joys. J.P.P. Capt. Andrew Sitlington was Justice of the peace of Bath County 30 years. He was one of the soldiers from Bath in the 1812 War.
