The above mentioned tract of land contains four hundred and eighty acres by measurement be the same more or less to have and to hold the same tract of land with all its appurtanances to the said Robert SITLING---( SITLINGTON ?) and his heirs or assigns against the claim or claims of all persons whatsoever and to forever warrant and defend as a general warrantee. Witnesseth that the said William ROBERTS and Elizabeth his wife, Jane McDONALD, Robert PORTER and Margaret PORTER his wife and Patsy MCDONALD for and in consideration of the sum of six dollars to them in hand paid and for other considerations by the said John MCDONALD , Samuel MCDONALD , and William MCDONNALD thereceipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and bargained and sold and by these presents do Bargain and sell and convey unto the said John McDonald, Samuel McDonnald and William McDonnald all the right title interest and claim which they the said William Roberts and Elizabeth his wife, Jane McDonnald, Robert Porter and Margaret his wife and Patsy McDonnald have or may have to two certain tracts or parcels of land lying on the COWPASTURE RIVER and belonging to the ESTATE of the aforementioned JOHN MCDONALD, deceased and the first of said tracts of land containing two hundred and seventy seven(?) acres and granted to the FATHER of the said John McDonald deceased by patent bearing date the tenth day of April one thousand seven hundred and fifty one (whose name was John DONOLEY) and bounded as followeth Beginning at a hoopwood and sycamore on the east side of the Cowpasture River corner to the land wherest ALEXANDER MCCAY (this could be Maliay or something else)( McKAY -I’ve added this so it will show up on an index JW) that lived on thenceof the said land North forty degrees east fifty poles to a pine on a hill thence south east ninety pole to a white oak and walnut thence South west eighty four poles to two white oaks on the southwest side of the river thence down the several courses of the river crossing the same one hundred and forty four poles to a hiccory and white oak on the bank thence west forty five poles to a white oak and black oak on the side of a hill thence north fifty five degrees west one hundred and fifty six poles to a Sugartree and chesnut oak on a Sttep bank thence south thirty five degrees west twenty poles to a black oak to the this tract of HUGH CAFFEY ( COFFEY ?) and thence with his line North sixty five degrees west one hundred and eight poles crossing the river to a walnut and two Sugartrees at the fork (fort?) of a M--p h---thence North forty degrees East forty poles thence North eighty two degrees East two hundred and ninety eight poles to the Beginning . The other aforementioned tract lying and adjoining this tract last above described the quantity or number of acres at present not known but supposed to contain about one hundred and twenty three acres be the same more or less. Together with all ... appertances to the said JOHN MCDONNALD, SAMUEL MCDONNALD, and WILLIAM MCDONNALD their heirs and assigns to have and hold the said two tracts or parcels of land with all their appertenances u8nto the said John McDonnald , Samuel McDonnald, William McDonnald their heirs and assigns forever and the said William Roberts and Elizabeth his wife, Jane McDonnald, Robert Porter and Margaret Porter his wife , Patsy McDonnald for themselves and their heirs doth covenant and agree to .. .with the said John McDonnald, Samuel McDonnald and William McDonnald and their heirs and assigns and to the only proper use and behoof of them the said John McDonnald, Samuel McDonnald and William McDonnald their heirs and assigns forever and that they the said William Roberts and Elizabeth his wife, Jane McDonnald, Robert Porter and Margaret his wife, and Patsy McDonnald and their heirs the said two tracts or parcels of land with all their appurtanences unto the said John McDonnald, Samuel McDonnald and William McDonnald and their heirs will forever warrant and defend against these the said William Roberts and Elizabeth his wife , Jane McDonnald, Robert Porter and Margaret his wife and Patsy McDonnald and their heirs or any other person or person whatsoever claiming under these or theirs as heirs of the said John McDonald lately decd. of Bath County.
