John Akeman Jun. Thomas Patton Michael Deacon & Edward P Walton of the County and state aforesaid of the other part Witnefseth that the said Thomas Milhollin & Martha his wife for and in consideration of benefit of the public has granted & conveyed & by these presents do grant & convey unto John Akeman Sen. John Akeman Jun. Thomas Patton, Michael Deacon & Edward P. Walton (as Trustees) forever one certain lott or parcel of land on which there is to be a meeting house & the land to be exclusively for the use of a church yard containing [one – inserted between lines] acre lying & being in the county of Bath about one mile from the junction of the Roads leading from Lewisburg by the way of Callahans & from Covington to the Hott Springs and bounded as follows to wit – Begining at a white Oak side line between the aforesaid Walton & Milhollan (on the east side of the road leading from Covington to Thomas Patton's & the Hott Springs) and runing with said line N46 W.14 poles thence S44 W11 poles 12 ½ links thence S46 E14 poles thence N44 E11 poles 12 ½ links to the Beginning Corner together with all the appertenances therein belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold the said lott or parcel of land with all its appertenances thereunto belonging unto the sd Trusftees for the aforesaid use forever and the sd Thomas Milhollan & Martha his wife for their part doth forever warrant & defend unto the said Trustees, the said lott or parcel of land against the claim or claims of any person or persons Claiming Through or by them (the said Thos Milhollan & Martha his wife & no further_ In Witnefs whereof the said Thomas Milhollin and Martha his wife has hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year above written. Thos Milhollin (seal) Martha Milhollin (seal) Bath County to wit We Alexander McClintic and John Slone justices of the peace in Bath County & State of Virginia do hearby certify that Martha Milhollin the wife of Thomas Milhollin parties to a certain deed bearing date on the 12' day of November 1827 & hereunto annexed personally appeared before us privily & a part from her husband and having the Deed aforesaid fully explained to her she the said Martha acknowledged the same to be her act & deed & declared that she had willingly signed sealed & delivered the same and that she wished not to retract it.
