This Indenture on the eleventh day of July in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety seven between Abraham Ingram of the County of Bath and state of Virginia on the one part and Hezekiah Stout of the County and state aforesaid on the other part then the same Abraham Ingram hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Hezekiah Stout and to his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land containing twenty acres being part of a larger tract of one hundred and four acres lying on back creek in the County of Bath and bounded as followeth: Beginning at a spruse (sic) pine on the east side of the creek and running thence north fifty five degrees west forty poles to a lyme (?) by a branch thence north ten degrees east sixty five poles to two sugartrees thence North eight degrees West sixteen poles to a chesnut (sic) and sugartree thence North ten degrees east eight poles to a hikkory (sic) thence south fifty five degrees east seventy poles to a oak on the patters (? sic) line thence to the Beginning Together with these appertanences thereunto belonging to have and to hold the land hereby conveyed and all one singularty the principles (?) hereby granted with the appertenances ( ) unto the said Hezekiah Stout his heirs and asigns (sic) forever the only proper use and ( ) of him the said Hezekiah Stout and of his heirs and asigns (sic) forever and the said Abraham and Elizabeth Ingram for themselves their heirs executors and administrators doth covenant and agree to and with the said Hezekiah Stout his heirs and asigns (sic) by these presents the said tract of land with the appertanances unto the said Hezekiah Stout his heirs and asigns (sic) from these claims or demand of them the said Abraham and Elizabeth Ingrim (sic-t) or any other parson (sic -t) whatsoever shall warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof they the said Abraham and Elizabeth Ingram had hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.
