Deeds and Wills 1809-1871 Bath County, Virginia, pages 33-35 Will of Benjamin T. Douglas Jr. I Benjamin T. Douglas being of perfect mind and memory and knowing that it is appointed for all men on earth to die do hereby constitute and ordain this my last will and Testament in the manner and form from following to wit; It is my desire that my just debts , which is not many, be paid by my Exicutors as soon after my death as they may deem prudent the money to be raised by a sale of what property I may die siezed of on a credit of twelve months. the revenue I wish to put to interest , which interest I wish to be appropriated to the raising of the following children, sons and daughters of Rachel Windon, to sons Hamilton, George, Zarilda, Gabriel and John execpt so much thereof an will vary to Racheal Windom, Vanessea Douglas, who intermarried with Morton Early thus since become a widow and to William Galloway each the sum of fifty dollars. I also desire that a valuable Feather Bed which I deposited with Margaret Morrison be delivered to Vanessa Early as a donation from me to her. And that my wearing apperal of every discription , be delivered to Racheal Windon for the use of her children. It is my further desire that this principal that may remain after paying this before mentioned legal debts be devided equaly as they become of age, between the above named children, that is to say , Hamilton, George, Zarilda, Gaberial and John. I hereby constitute and appoint my Trusty friend Thomas Lettington and Hamilton Wade excutors of this my last will and testement working and disannuling all their former will or wills heretofore by me made in Testemony whereof haveunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 20th day of March 1841.
