Will: Eliza Stuart, 1841, Bath County, Virginia Source: Will Book 4, Page 550 Contributor: Merry Hanning --------------------------------------------------------------- In the name of God Amen I Eliza Stuart of Bath County and State of Virginia being weak in body but of sound mind, memory and understanding considering the certainty of death & the uncertainty of the time thereof & being desirous to settle my worldly affairs & be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me hence - do therefore make this my last will and testament in name & form as follows -- First I will and bequeath to my brother Andrew the one half of my interest in the tract of land on which my father resided on the Cowpasture River also the one half of every thing I posse/s accept the bed & bureau Second I give and bequeath to my sister Patsy my bed & bureau & the other half of my land & balance of my property I give and bequeath to my three sisters Patsy, Nancy & Matilda to be equally divid between them to them and their heirs forever and lastly I do hereby appoint my brother Andrew Executor of this my last will and testament in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my name and affix my seal this first day of March 1841 Eliza Stuart Witne/s John Dickinson Joseph Burges Bath County Court April Term 1841 This last will and testament of Eliza Stuart decd was presented in Court and proved by the oath of John Dickinson and Joseph Burges subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded Teste S.A.
