The following will is for Stephen Woodzell (my maternal great-great grandfather). Stephen and his wife, Dinah Wright Woodzell arrived in America from Liverpool, England 20 June 1827. Riverdale, GA 30296-1735 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- This will is on file in Will Book 7/Page 38 at the Bath Co., VA in the Office of the Circuit Court Clerk's Office. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I Stephen Woodzell of the County of Bath in the State of Virginia being of sound mind and disposing memory and calling to mind the uncertain duration of life and the cetainty of death do make ordain and publish this as and for my last will and testament in manner and form following "to wit". 1st - I desire that all such debts as I may owe at the time of my death and likewise my funeral expenses to be paid out of my estate. 2nd - I will and bequeath my entire real estate to my daughter Elizabeth Woodzell and my son Daniel Woodzell upon this condition that they are to support their mother comfortably and decently during her lifetime and also as to my son Daniel Woodzell if he require payment for certain buildings and improvements on the part of my lands on which he now lives then he shall not inherit jointly with his sister Elizabeth Woodzell in my real estate but shall receive compensation according to an article of agreement. 3rd - I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Dinah Woodzell all my household and kitchen furniture to have and to hold during her life time and at her death it shall be my Elizabeth Woodzell's also I give my beloved wife one of my cows which she shall elect for herself. 4th - I will and bequeath to my son Daniel Woodzell my farming implements consisting of wagon, plows, harrow, harnesses 5th - I will and bequeath to my children Ann Baldwin the children of my son John Woodzell my sons William Woodzell, James Woodzell, Benjamin Woodzell and George Woodzell the remainder of my estate to be divided equally among them. 6th - I hereby appoint my son William Woodzell executor of this my last will and testament and I do revoke all former wills heretofore made by me.
