Chancery of Bedford County- The Bill of Complaint of Philip Reynolds respectfully --?that some five years ago one Jesse Reynolds late of Bedford Co Va, the father of your orator departed this life intestate, seized and posessed of a considerable estate, both real and personal, as his ever rightful property and leaving a widow, to wit Mary Reynolds and the following children, to wit Charles Reynolds, Edward Reynolds, Martha Fuqua widow and relict of Jos. Fuqua, dec'd, late * Martha Reynolds, Joshua Reynolds, John Wade and Jemima his wife, formerly Jemima Reynolds, Archibald Reynolds, Cabel** Reynolds, Abner Reynolds and your orator Philip Reynolds, each of whom are entitled to equal distribution shares......". * meaning previously, not meaning deceased in this case ** written as Caleb later in this document. Additional Comments: This plaintiff, Philip Reynolds goes on to explain that his brother, Charles had qualified as administrator of their father, Jesse's estate, but now, five years later, there has been no division or distribution of property.
