All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Between Thomas Greenwood and Francis Callaway, 4/2/1763 Bedford County Virginia Grantors Deed Book 2, page 169-171 This Indenture made this 2nd day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Sixty three Between Thomas Greenwood of the Parrish of Russell in Bedford County of the one part, and Francis Callaway of the same Parrish and County of the Other Part. Witnesseth that the said Thos. Greenwood for and in consider- ation of the Just and full sum of Seventy Pounds Current -- money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the Said Frances Callaway the Receipt whereof he the said Thos Greenwood doth hereby Acknowledge hath given Granted Bargained and sold and by these presents do Bargain sell Deliver and Confirm to him the said Francis Callaway his Heirs and assigns forever one Certain Tract or Parcel of Land situate in Bedford County aforesaid on Both sides of Sinaca (Seneca) Creek Containing one -- Hundred and Ninety Acres be the same more or less granted to Charles Talbot by Pattent Bearing Date the Tenth day of September one thousand seven Hundred and fifty Five and - Bounded as followeth Viz: Beginning at a Red oak Just Below a small point of Rocks on the said Senaca Creek. Thence Nine Lines South Eighty Degrees west Two Hundred and Thirtyfore Poles to a Red Oak. Thence south Fortyfour poles to a White on the Creek. Thence south Twenty Six Degrees east Sixty Poles to a White - oak Thence North seventy Degrees East Sixty Poles-- to a Sycamore on the Creek and thence up the Creek as as it Meanders to first Station. Together with all and - Singular the priviledges and Appurtenances thereunto Belonging or in any wise Appertaining to have and to hold the above Sold Land & premises with all the Appurtenances to him the said Frances Callaway his Heirs and assigns for to have hold use Occupy and Injoy the same with every part and parcel Thereof to him the said Francis Callaway his heirs and assigns forever against him the Said- Thos Greenwood his Heirs or assigns and against their Claim and Demand of all other persons Whatsoever- Shall and will by these presents warrant and forever- Defend in Witness Thereof the said Thomas Greenwood hath hearunto set his hand and Seal the Day and year first above Written Thos Greenwood (S.S.)
