Deed - Isham Talbot to John Dent 

Witnessed by Robert Nimmo, Joseph Brown, 
     Jeremiah Pate, Thomas Pate & Wm. Asberry 
Bedford Co., Virginia Deed Book 5, Page 475 
Date:  2 Jan 1777 

This Indenture made the Second day of Jany one Thousand seven hundred Seventy 
seven Between Isham Talbot of the County of Bedford of the one part, and John 
Dent of the same County of the other part  Witnesseth that the said Isham 
Talbot for and in Consideration of the sum of Twenty nine pounds Current Money 
of Virginia the receipt whereof he doth herby Acknowledge hath Bargained and 
sold and by these presents dot Grant Bargain and alow Enforss and Confirm unto 
the said John Dent his heirs and assigns forever one Certain Tract or parcel 
of Land situate in Bedford County on the Branch’s of Coles Creek & Jumping Run 
containing by Estimation two hundred & thirty five Acres be the same more or 
less and Bounded as followeth Viz  Beginning a Hickory in May’s line off 
Thence south seventy five degrees west thirteen poles to a Red Oak 
thence south sixteen degrees east one hundred and four poles to a Chestnut.  
Thence south two degrees East seventy four poles to pointers in Stiths Line 
thence on the same North forty four degrees and twenty four poles to a Red Oak 
Thence North forty six poles to a Red Oak 
Thence North Seventy eight degrees West twenty four Poles to Pointers on Mays 
Line.  Aforesaid & thence along the same to the first Station  
To have and to hold the above Said  Land & premises unto the said John Dent 
his Heirs and Assigns forever and the said Isham Talbot for himself & his 
heirs doth Covenant grant and agree to and with the said John Dent that he the 
said Isham Talbot & his Heirs the said Land & premises unto the said John Dent 
his Heirs shall & will warrant and forever defend.  In Witness whereof he the 
said Isham Talbot hath hereunto set his hand & Seal the day and Year above 
written.
