All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ John and Hanna Greenwood to Josiah Bass, March 16, 1780 Bedford County Deed Book 6, Page 442 This Indenture made this Sixteenth day of March in the year of Our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Between John Greenwood and Hanna Greenwood of the County of Bedford, of the one Part Josiah Bass of Chesterfield County of the other Part. Witnesseth that for in Consideration of of the sum of three Thousand Pounds Current Money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Bass the rect. whereof he hereby acknowledge and himself fully Satisfied Have given granted Bargained and Sold and by these presents Doth grant Bargain and sell unto the said Josiah Bass and to his Heirs and assigns forever one Certain Tract or Parcell of land Situate Lying and being in the County of Bedford Containing by Estimation three Hundred Acres be the same more or less and Bounded as followeth To wit Ajoining the Lands of Samuel Walker the Lands Samuel Muckleroy, the lands of [...?] Muckalleyroy the Lands of James [...?], Robert Garret and from thence to the Grate folling River and down to the fork Together with all Houses Orchards wood ways under woods Waters Water Courses thereunto Pertaining or Beloning in any wise appertainin To have and to hold the Said Granted Lands and Premises to him the Said Josiah Bass and to his heirs and assigns forever in full and Absolute Right in fee simple without any Let hindrance or Disturbance whatsoever from all and every Person or Persons whatsoever that shall lay any Claim Right or Title to the above sold land and premises or any Part thereof and the said John Greenwood and Hanna Greenwood his wife for themselves their Heirs Executor and Administrators the above sold Lands and Premises with the appurtenances unto the said Josiah Bass his Heirs Executors Administrator and Assigns shall and will Warrant and forever defend by these Presents against all Person or Persons whatsoever In Witness whereof the said John Greenwood and Hanna Greenwood his wife hath hereunto set their hands and offered there Seals the day and Year above Written.
