All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Bedford County, Virginia Deed Book 10, Pages 10-11 Joseph Blankenship Jr. Deed to Joseph Brown This Indenture made this fifteenth day of November in the year one thousand, seven hundred and eighty six between Joseph Blankenship Jun of Bedford County of the One part and Joseph Brown of the said County of the other part Witnesseth that the said Joseph Blankenship Jun for and in consideration of the full and just Sum of Sixty pounds Current Money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Joseph Brown the receipt whereof he the said Joseph Blankenship Jun do hereby acknowledge hath given granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth give ~ grant bargain Sale deliver & confirm to him the said Joseph Brown his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of Land ~ lying and being in the County aforesaid on the branches of Beaverdam Creek containing One hundred and eighty five acres More or less ~ and bounded as follwith to wit Beginning at Hurts new corner white Oak in the old line, thence on the old line North twenty five degrees West twenty six poles to a Chesnut Oak off North thirty three degrees East Seventy poles to a Gum North eighty degrees East One hundred & forty four poles to a read oak, North twenty degrees East sixty two poles a Spanish Oak South forty Degrees East sixty poles to a red oak south twenty degrees West ninety six poles to a pine in Thomas Yates line on his line South fifty degrees West One hundred poles to his corner ~ Line, North forty two degrees West forty six poles to his corner, and North eighty five degrees west Sixty eight poles to the Beginn9iing with its ~ appurtenances to have and hold The said Tract or parcel of Land with its appurtenances to the said Joseph Brown and his heirs forever. To have & hold use occupy possess and enjoy the same with every part and parcel ~ thereof to him the said Joseph Brown his heirs and assigns forever against the Claim and demand of all other persons In Witness whereof he the said Joseph Blankenship Jrn hath hereunto set his hand and Seal this day and year first above written.
