McGraw Deed, 1800 Deed Book 13 Page 500 This indenture made the sixth day of November in the year of our Lord one Thousand and eight hundred between James McCraw of the County of Hallifax of the one part and William McCraw of the town of Petersburg and Alexander McCraw of the County of Hallifax of the other part witnesseth that the said James for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which he hath and doth bear towards the said William and Alexander for & in consideration of diverse other meritorious considerations as also for and in consideration of the sum of five shillings current money of Virginia to him the said James in hand paid by the said William & Alexander before the sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt where of he the said James McCraw doth hereby acknowledge & there of acquit, release & discharge the said William & Alexander McCraw their heirs, exo..... ... & assigns & every of them forever he the said James McCraw hath given, granted, bargained, sold, aliened, released, enfeoffed & confirmed & by these present for himself, his heirs, ex..... doth give, grant, bargain, sell, alien, release, enfeoff, and confirm unto the said William McCraw & Alexander McCraw & their heirs & assigns forever as tenants in common, the following tracts, pieces or parcels of land, to witt one tract containing two hundred & eighty six acres lying & being in the County of Bedford on both sides of Staunton river & bounded as expressed in a patent or grant from the Commonwealth of Virginia to the said James McCraw bearing date the eighth day of April one thousand seven hundred & eight five. Also one other tract, piece or parcel of land containing two hundred acres more or less lying & being in the County of Pittsylvania on CherryStone being the said tract, piece or parcel of land which was conveyed by John Cox to James McCraw & which will more fully appear reference being had to a deed therefor recorded in the office of Pittsylvania County. To have & to hold the said tract, pieces or parcels of land unto the said William McCraw & Alexander McCraw their heirs & assigns forever, to the only use it behoofs of them the said William and Alexander their heirs & assigns forever.....
