All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Janet King JPerdue192@aol.com March 12, 2009, 1:49 pm Bedford Co., Virginia Written: July 26, 1773 Recorded: July 26, 1773 Deed Bk.5, pg 103 THE INDENTURE, made this 26th day of July One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy three Between William Mead of Bedford County of the one part and James Dillon of Pitsilvania County of the other part - Witnesseth that the said William Mead for and in Consideration of the Sum of Thirty five pounds to him in hand paid the Receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge hath Granted Bargained and Sold and by these Presents doth Grant Bargain and Sell unto the Said James Dillon three hundred and Eighty Acres on Black water River in Bedford and Pitslvania Counties and Bounded as follows, Towit, BEGINING at Blankinships Corner Hicory on South Side of Said River off North forty Degrees East forty poles to Millers Corner Chesnut so on Millers line North Eighty two Degrees East Eighteen poles to his Corner White Oak and North forty five Degrees East Eighty Six poles to his corner Hickory thence off South Eighty four degrees East Sixty Six poles to a red oak south fourteen degrees east one hundred and twenty six poles to Belchers Corner thence on his line South Sixty two Degrees West Sixty four poles to his Corner Poplar on sd River thence down and crossing to Pointers on the South Side of Said River off South Thirty four Degrees West two Hundred Poles to Pointers North Eighty four Degrees West two hundred Poles to Nolands Corner thence along his line North Nineteen Degrees East Seventy four poles to said river and down the same and crossing the beginning. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Granted Land and premisses with the appertenances to the Same Belonging unto the Said James Dillon his heirs and assigns forever and the said William Mead doth Warrant and forever Defend the within Granted Land and premisses from him the Said William Mead his Heirs and all other persons Whatsoever unto him the said James Dillon his Heirs and assigns forever. In Witness whereof the Said William Mead Hath hereunto Set his hand and affixed his Seal the Day and Year above Written. Wm Mead (I.S.) Memo. That on the Day and Year Written Quiet and Peacable possession and delivery of seizin of the within mentioned Land and premisses was given and made by the within named William Mead unto the within named James Dillon according to the within written Indenture.
