Thomas Jefferson Governour of the Commonwealth of Virginia
to all to whom these presents shall come Greeting  Know Ye that in
Consideration of the Ancient Composition of Fifty Shillings
Sterling paid by Michael Prewit into the Treasury of
this Commonwealth there is granted by the Said Commonwealth unto the
Said Michael Prewit a Certain tract or parcel of land Containing
four hundred and Sixty acres by Survey bearing date the twentysixth day
of January one thousand seven hundred and Eighty and Sixty four lying
and being in the County of Bedford on the South side of Falling river
and bounded as followeth (towit, Beginning at Winfords Corner white
Oak on his own line thence along Winfords line North fifteen degrees East
Seventyeight poles to his corner pine thence off North sixty three
degrees
East Eightyeight poles to a pine North Seventynine degrees East eightysix
poles to
pointers on Bookers line thence along his line south twenty five degrees
East ninety poles to his Corner Gum on falling River thence down the said

River as it Meanders to his own Corner black Gum thence along his own
Lines South forty five degrees West Eighteen poles to his corner white
Oak
South fifty degrees East fiftytwo poles to his Corner dogwood South
twenty
degrees fifty two poles to his corner Dogwood South twenty degrees East
one
hundred and fiftytwo poles to Randolphs Corner three Dogwoods  thence
along Randolphs line south sixty five degrees West seventy four poles to
his 
Corner Pine thence off North fortyseven degrees West eightyeight poles to
his
Corner white Oak thence along his own lines North thirtyseven degrees
West
Ninety poles to his Corner Pine North sixty degrees West one hundred and
seventy eight poles to his Corner Red Oak North fifty degrees West one 
hundred and sixteen poles to his corner pine and North seventy five
degrees 
West thirtysix poles to the first Station with its appurtenances to have 
and to hold the said [tract]1or parcel of land with its appurtenances to
the said
Michael Prewit and his Heirs forever In Witness whereof the Said,
Thomas Jefferson Governour of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto
set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth
to be affixed at Richmond on the first day of September, in the year 
of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty and of the 
Commonwealth the fifth
