VA Land Office Patents and Grants - Library of Virginia Michael Pruit 450 Acres George the third &c To all &c Know ye that for divers good Causes and Consideration but more expecially for and in Consideration of the Sum of Forty Five Shillings of good and lawful Money for our use paid to our Receiver General of our Reveinues in this our Colony and Dominion of Virginia We have Given Granted and Confirmed and by these presents for us our heirs and successors Do Give Grant and Confirm unto Michael Pruit one certain Tract or parcel of Land containing four hundred and fifty acres lying and being in the County of Bedford on the South side of Falling River and bounded as followeth. to wit. Beginning at Mitche’s corner Walnut on the River, thence down the same South thirty five degrees West twenty poles to a spanish oak at large Rocks thence off North sixty eight degrees West fifty eight poles to a small hickory amongst Stones on the top of a hill North eighty two degrees West two hundred & fourteen poles to a pine North one hundred and eighty poles to a large pine North fifty two degrees East crossing a branch several times one hundred and fifty eight poles to a white Oak on the said Branch on Daugherty’s Line thence along his Line’s South fifty two degrees East one hundred and four poles to his corner small hickory South eighty three degrees East crossing a branch several times Sixty eight poles to his corner Sorrell on Falling River aforesaid thence down the same as it meanders to Mitchell’s Line thence along his Lines South sixty eight degrees West eighty six poles to his corner pine South twenty three degrees West seventy nine poles to his corner white Oak South forty degrees East forty two poles to the first Station With all &c To have hold &c To be held &c Yielding and paying &c Provided &c In Witness &c Witness our trusty and welbeloved John Earl of Dunmore our Lieutenant and Governor General of our said Colony and Dominion at Williamsburg under the Seal of our said Colony the fifth day of July one thousand seven hundred and seventy four in the fourteenth year of our Reign Dunmore Submitted by Ron Reid **************************************************************** USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by any other organization or persons.
