Smith/Dickerson Deed, 1874 - Bedford Co. VA Bedford Co., Virginia Deed Book 46, Pages 44-45 November 13, 1874 Grantor: Nancy Smith Grantee: John G. Dickerson 100 A on Beaver Dam Creek and personal property. This Deed made and entered into this 13th day of November 1871 Between Nancy Smith of the first part and John G. Dickerson of the second part al of the County of Bedford and state of Virginia. Witnesseth that the said Nancy Smith for and in consideration of a support and maintenance of Meat, Drink, washing, lodging, Clothing and attendance suitable to my State and situation and for the natural love and affection, I have and bear to my nephew John G. Dickerson and for and toward the better support and maintenance of him after my decease and for diverse other good causes and valuable consideration, I thereunto especially have given granted and sold and by these presents do give grant and sell unto the said John G. Dickerson all and singularly my goods and chattels whatsoever and wherever and of what Nature sort and kind sever, and also the tract or parcel of land on which I now reside, containing one hundred Acres be the same more or less situated in Bedford County on the waters of Beaver Dam Creek a more minute description of said land can be had by a reference to a deed made to the said Nancy Smith from Joel Dent bearing date July 1856 to have and to hold forever. The said Nancy Smith binds herself to warrant and defend the right and title of the said land goods and chattels unto the said John G. Dickerson against the claims of herself, her heirs or any person or manner of persons whatsoever with general warranty: Provided always and these presents are upon this special trust and confidence and upon this express condition that he the said John G. Dickerson &Co Shall and do permit and suffer me the said Nancy Smith to use keep and enjoy all and singularly the said land goods and chattels during my natural life and that from and after my discease he the said John G. Dickerson shall or lawfully May have hold and enjoy the same and every part and parcel thereof and dispose thereof and convert the same to his own proper use and behoof as he shall think fit.
