COMMENTS: William Langhorne was the husband of Catherine Calloway, James Calloway's daughter (and sister of Frances Calloway Steptoe). Langhorne paid James Calloway's estate $9300 for these 31 slaves. Some were, as stated, subject to Mrs. Mary Calloway's life interest in them, as set forth in Calloway's will. (See 2 May 1809.) DATE: 5 March 1820 PARTIES: Samuel MITCHELL to Thomas B. LEFTWICH and Robert C. Steptoe was the husband of Elizabeth Leftwich, sister (or dgtr?) of William B. Leftwich. This trust deed secured Mitchell's debts to Samuel Read and William Calloway. DATE: 24 March 1820 PARTIES: Elijah WEEKS to Thomas B. LEFTWICH and Robert C.
