Know all men by these presents that we James Johnson & Ann Cotterill are held
unto Thos. Jefferson Esq. Govr of Virginia in the Sum of Fifty pounds to the
true Payment well & Truly to be made we bind ourselves our Heirs & firmly by
these presents Sealed & Dated this 26th Day of Sept 1780
The condition of the above Oblgn is Such that whereas there is a Marriage
shortly intended to be had & Solemnized between that above Bound James Johnson &
Ann Cotterill & therefore there be no Lawful cause to Obstruct the same then the
above oblgn to be Void other wise to remain if full force & virtue
