South River Monthly Meeting Bedford County Virginia the 16th of the 8th Mo 
1778.
     This may Certify all whom it may Concern that our Friends Charles 
Johnson of Bedford County and Molley Moorman daughter of Zacheriah 
Moorman of the Same County after declaring their intentions of Mariage with 
each other publickly recording to the Rule of Friends having consent of Parents  
& Friends did on the day and Year above written take each other in the 
following Solled manner Viz. In a publick Meeting the man takeing the 
Woman by the hand Saying Friends you are my Witness that I take this my 
Friend Molley Moorman to be my wife promissing through divine assistance to 
be unto her a true and loveing husband until death shall separte us or words to 
the same effect the Woman Likewise takeing the man by the hand Saying 
friends you are my witness I take this may friend Charles Johnson to be my 
Husband promiseing thro Divine Assistance to be unto him a true and Loveing 
wife until Death shall separate us or words to the same effect assuming to 
herself the name of her Husband Signed first by Themselves and after by us 
whose names are under written
