To Bedford Circuit Court: I hereby certify that I have examined the foregoing inventory and appraisement of the personal estate of Marcella F. Booth, and that the same is in proper form. Given under my hand this 26th day of March 1918, as Commissioner of Accounts of Bedford Circuit Court. E.C. Burks, Commissioner of Accounts Bedford Circuit Court Clerk's Office, March 26th, 1918. This inventory and appraisement of the personal property of the estate of M. F. Booth, deceased, with the certificate of the Commissioner of Accounts of said Court annexed, was this day delivered to the Clerk of the Said Court and admitted to record. Teste: /s/ S. M. F. Booth to Lee Powers Bedford Circuit Court Clerks Office, March 19th, 1918. This paper writing, bearing date the 9th day of February, 1914, purporting to be the last will and testament of M. F. Booth, deceased, was this day filed in said Office: and thereupon William E. Powers and Robert W. Powers, being duly sworn, testified that they are well acquainted with the handwriting of the testatrix, and verily believe that the said writing and the signature thereto are wholly in the handwriting of the said testatrix. Whereupon the said paper writing is admitted to probate as the true last will and testament of the said M. F. Booth, deceased. And no Executor or Executrix being nominated in said will, on the motion of Tazwell A. Booth, a son of said testatrix, he is appointed Administrator of the estate of the said M.F. Booth, deceased, will the will of the said M.F. Booth, deceased, annexed, in due form. And thereupon the Tazwell A. Booth made oath, according to law, and with William E. Powers, his surety, who justified as to his sufficiency, entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of six hundred dollars, conditioned according to law, and certificate is granted him for obtaining letters of administration on the estate of the said M. F. Booth, deceased, with her will aforesaid annexed, in due form. And said bond is approved and admitted to record. Teste: __________ Deputy for S.M. M. F. Booth is Marcella Frances Booth, wife of Charles Robert Booth. She was the daughter of Alexander Wade and Lucinda E. Nance and was born September 23, 1837 (see Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Health, Division of Vital Records File #286 - Certificate of Death.
