Cox February 13, 2013 From Bedford County Court Records; Will Book # 1, pages 50-52 December ye 21st 1767 In the name of God amen. I Elex. Hunter of Bedford County being weaken in body but yet of a sound understanding and memory praised be God do this day make & published this my last Will & Testament in ye manner following That is to say as to my buriel I desire it may be desent & as to my wourldly estate I will & positively order that all my just debts be paid & (sly) I leave & give to my (Dr) Wife for term of life this house wherein I now live with one bed & the clothes of it her thirds of the furniture and her thirds of ye land & houses about it. Her rideing horse & saddle & bridle with three cows two year olds heffers past & Negro Dick dureing her life and at her death ye houses & land to go to my son Samuel up to ye line that son James had run right acroos form James new line & mine ye North Creek across to Obediah Pattersons line which by computation is 775 acres & to be his, his heirs, & assigns forever and as to Negro dick at my wifes death my Will is that son Alexander shall have him his heirs & assigns forevery of their uses during life of ye Negro & further I bequeath to son Alexander the two hundred acres of land ye upper end down to the cross line mentioned in Samuels that was run out for son James to be son Alexander his heirs & assigns forever & Also three horses Viz Chibby & Dorby ? ewl mare & half of ye waggon & gearss, & son Samuel ye other wagon with two horses Viz Buck & Tobby & on cow & two year olds heffers past last spring calf & the plows & irons Ex. & matthosk & harrow hoes what ye mother diss not use & son Alexander I order three cows & ye three on year olds heffers bull or stears with 4 last spring calves & also a feather bed and clothes & to my daughter Betty order son Samuel & son Alexander to pay to there sister Betty fifty pounds current money at ye experation of two year to buy a Negro wench with her issue or her self as she pleases & also I leave her a feather bed & cloths and son Samuel & son Alexander to pay a like of the fifty pounds Viz. 25 pounds for pice to son John Hunter e shillings sterling to son James Hunter 5 schillings sterling Alley Heys 5 schilling sterling and I do appoint my wife Executrix & her son Samuel & Alexander Excutors also & I pronounce this my Last Will and testament seled published & declared by the above named.
