PREAS In the name of God Amen I John F. Preas of the County of Bedford and State of Virginia being of sound disposing mind and memory and taking in consideration the uncertainty of human life do make and constitute this my last will and testament. 1st My will and disire is that my Burial expences and all my just Debts shall be paid 2nd I will and bequeath to my Brother william H Preas one hundred Dollars in money & one Horse & to Mary Jane Preas the wife of William H. Preas one hundred Dollars in money 3rd If I have a watch at my death I will that to Thomas P. Preas William's oldest son 4th I will to Elizabeth Preas wife of Henry Preas fifty dollars in money 5th My will and desire is that after my decease all the residue of my Estate both real & presonal shall be held and occupied by William H. Preas and Mary Jane his wife during their lifetime or during her widowhood if she should become a widow and after their deaths to be equally Divided between all of William H. Preas' children. 6th I hereby constitute and appoint William H. Preas Executor to this my last will and testament and he not to be required to give security signed sealed and delivered in the presents of two witnesses this 23rd day of September 1869. Preas deceased, bearing date the 23rd day of September 1869, was produced in Court, proved according to law by the oaths of Fielden H. Jeter and Charles P. Craghead subscribing withesses thereto and ordered to be recorded as the true last will and Testament of said John F. Preas deceased. And therefore, on the motion of William H. Preas, the executor named in said will who made oath thereto, and entered into and acknowledged a bod in the penalty of One thousand dollars, without sceurity (none being required by said will) certificate was granted him for obtaining a probat of said will in due form. and said bond was ordered to be recorded.
