Will of Jeremiah Meador, 1816 - Bedford Co. VA Will Book D1-4, Page 296 Recorded 27th January, 1817 Bedford County, Virginia I Jeremiah Meadow of Bedford County, Virginia, being in a low state of health, but of sound memory, it is my will and desire to dispose of my worldly property as follows: 1st. It is my desire that my debts be paid out of my movable property. 2nd. I give and bequeath to Jeremiah Meador, my grandson, his heirs and assigns forever, one-third of my land, to include the plantation whereon he now lives adjoining Jeremiah Jordan's line to extend equal distance on McGeorge's line, and my spring branch, as it meanders to make the said one-third part. 3rd. I leave to my affectionate wife, Elizabeth, the use and benefit of the other two-thirds of my land, and all my movable property, during her life or widowhood. 4th. I give to my granddaughter, Fanny Whitworth, one-third part of my land to be laid off by one line adjoining McGeorge Meador and Richard Meador's land, to have possession of at the end of my said wife's life, or widowhood. 5th. I give and bequeath to my grandson, Martin Meador, son of Richard Meador, the other one-third of my land which will include the house I now live in, to have possession of when my wife dies or remarries. 6th. I give to Thomas Armstrong twenty dollars provided he lives with my said wife until he is twenty-one years of age, or during her widowhood. 7th. It is my will and desire that at my wife's death or marriage all my personal property be equally divided amongst my three children, William, Richard and Mary.
