He was a loving and devoted family man. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Fields Armstrong; and two sisters, Hazel Wise and Elizabeth Bentley. Mr. Armstrong is survived by his wife, Hazel Armstrong of Ceres, Va.; five daughters, Patsy Olinger of Rich Valley, Va.,. Priscilla Martin of Georgetown, Ky., Sherry Pruitt of Atkins, Va., Shirley Armstrong and Shelley Oakes, both of Marion; three sons, Jamie Armstrong of Rich Valley, Eddie Armstrong of Groseclose, Va.,. and Charles Armstrong of Statesville, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Michelle Graham of Germany and Daisy Hall of Marion; two stepsons, David Hall of Chilhowie and Gary Hall of Dover, Del.; one sister, Donna Mae Pruitt, Rich Valley; two brothers, Sherman Gene Armstrong and Charlie Bill Armstrong, both of Marion; 14 grandchildren; and three step- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Rich Valley Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mike Sage officiating. Burial will follow in Rich Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Rich Valley. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at noon. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service is serving the Armstrong Family.
