This John Saunders Crockett Been is the son of Uriah Bean and Nancy Leedy Bean, 
originally of Wythe County and after 1861, Bland County. 
John was born 1840 in the Black Lick District, Wythe County, VA. 
John married Margaret McClellan 24 Sept 1865 in Smyth County, VA. 
John died 1 Mar 1910 in Ceres, Bland County, VA.
