Present: Pat Lockhart, Martin McFarran, Wm. Neelly, Math. Willson, Robert Poage and Wm. Ward, Gent. Justices. Joseph Robinson is exempted from payment Of Parish and County levies in the future on account of his age & infirmity. Last will & testament of James Scott, decd., prvd. by oaths of Saml. Walker, Junr. and Andrew Borland, two of the witnesses thereto. Upon the motion of Wm. McClenachan and Daniel Trigg against John Maxwell late Sheriff of this County to recover the amount of an execution levied on Thamos Barnes and his securities by Francis Smith, a Deputy Sheriff under the said Maxwell amounting to three hundred and twenty two pounds eleven shillings and three pence. Proved and Jugdt. for the plff. for one hundred and eight pounds eight shillings and six pence, the balance thereof due, with legal interest thereon from the 30th day of September, 1774 till paid and his costs. Revd. Adam Smyth & Pat Lockhart recommended as fit persons to execute office of Sheriff for this County for the ensuing year. Motion against John Maxwell to settle with the court for his collection in this County when Sheriff. On motion of defendant this motion continued.
