Robert Neelly appointed Captain in place of James Neelly, resigned. Johnathan Martin appointed, guardian to Hannah, Jean, Isabella, Elizabeth and Elener, orphans of Redman Akin, and entered into bond with Loo Hancorklin, security. Last will and testament of Samuel Linsay proved by Joseph Kyle and Jean Kyle. Margaret Linsay executrix with Joseph Kyle and Revd. Adam Smyth, sureties. Martin McFarran, Saml. McFarran, Wm. Ritchey & Wm. Kyle appointed to appraise the estate of Saml. Linsay. Elener Watkins renounces her husband's will, and claims what the law allows her. Leave granted Josiah Howell to build a water grist mill on his own land on the South Fork of Little River. Wm. Fountain granted leave to erect a mill at the upper fall of Wm. Lewis' land on the Sweet Spring Run, above the Red Springs. Wm. Anderson excused from paying fine as imposed. Ferrell Walker and Joseph Walker qualified as Deputy Surveyors for the County. David Robertson granted leave to build a grist mill on Dunlop's Creek. 40 pounds 4 shillings and 2 pence allowed Samuel Walker, Jr. Hugh Allen appointed Surveyor in place of David Henderson. Walter Estill and Jacob Parsinger appointed to settle the account of Moses Mann, administrator of John Mann, decd. Jerrett Glading placed under bond for good behavior for a year and a day, John Keeth, security. April 14, 1784. John Smallwood placed under bond for his good behavior. Samuel Snowden allowed 1 pound 12 shillings for beef furnished by him for state use. Alexandor Baine allowed 26 pounds for sundries furnished the militia of the state. Jacob Carper granted license to keep an ordinary at his house.
