John Breckenridge, Gent, admitted to practice law in this Court. Daniel Allen, Christopher Waggoner and Thomas Harris exempted from paying poll tax and County levies in future on account of their ages and infirmities. John McElwain granted leave to include the land whereon he lives with an entry adjoining in one survey. Leave is granted David Rice to keep an ordinary at his house. Same to Richard Morris. Thomas Goodson appointed Surveyor of the Road, succeeding Mathew Cox. Griffeth Dickerson, John Wickham and Thomas Goodson, Sr. appointed to view the way proposed for altering the road from Junas Lloyd's to Capt Thomas Goodson's. March 9, 1785. Cermack McCafferty exempted from payment of poll tax and County levy on account of his age and infirmity. Adam Cummins proved himself to be the lawful heir of John Cummins, deed. James Boylers exempted from payment of Parish and County Levies on account of his age and infirmities. John Preston ordered to examine Joseph Walker and John McClelon touching their capacity as Deputy Surveyors. Joseph Walker and John McClelon examined and found qualified to act as Deputy Surveyors. Receipt produced by Henry Banks for registration fees of 400 acres of land in Monongalia River, and ordered to be recorded. March 12, 1785. Samuel Eason appointed to return list of taxable property within the bounds of his and Capt. Goodson's Companies. Josiah Martin same in his own Company. James Barnett same. Wm. Walters same in Capt. Lewis' and Neelly's Companies. Robert Poage same in Grimes' and Moss' Companies. Samuel Todd same in Capt. Walker's Co. Robt. Harvey same in Capt. Robinson's Co. Martin McFarran same in Capt. Byers' Co. Thos. Rowland same in Capt. Miles' Co. Math. Willson same in Capt. Smith's Company. Geo. Skillern same in Capt. Cartmill's Co. Wm. Davidson same in Capt. Frazer's Co. Capt. Baller same in his own and Estill's Co. Geo. Rutledge same in Capt. Watterson's and Looney's Co. Pat Lockhart, Geo. Hancock, Robert Harvey and Thos. Madison appointed to let to the highest bidder the glebe of this Parish for one year, and view the repairs in the houses made by David May since January last, and allow him the value thereof. Wm. Crow fined 40 shillings for insolence and Contempt offered in the presence of the Court. John Craig took the oath of Deputy Sheriff. Uriah Humphries appointed Overseer of the Road from the ford of James River to Ballonts Spring, succeeding James Sharkey.
