Robert Foster exempted from future payment of Parish and County levy on account of infirmity, also from working on the public roads. Geo. Patterson appointed Overseer of the Road in place of Joseph Reaburne. Benjamin Morris proved that his brother Thomas Morris was enlisted in February, 1779, in Capt. Adam Wallis' Company as a soldier in the Continental Sorvice during the War, that he was taken prisoner at Bufford's defeat and carried to Charleston, S. C, whore he died, and that the said Benjamin is heir at law. William Hanson proved he is heir at law to Shadwick Hanson, who was killed at Buford's defeat. Joseph Haynes appointed Surveyor of the Road. October 12, 1785. Henry Watterson, Robert Shanklin and William Bowe appointed to view the road from John Rayburne's to Archibald Kyle's old place. Wm. Crawford, Jacob Parsinger, Jr., John Crawford, Jr., and John Crawford, Sr., Michael Kimberlane and Jeremiah Bell appointed to view a road from Crawford's Mill to Jos. Wright's on Potts Creek. James Reaburne appointed Surveyor of the Road, in place of John Reaburne. October 13, 1786. Sheriff ordered to summon 24 freeholders at appear at next court to serve as a Grand Jury of Inquest. John Wood, Andrew Lewis, Rowland Madison, John Kent, Taliaferro Craig, Nicholas Carper, Joseph Pryor, John Mill, Junus Robinson, James Wright, John Robinson, Wm. Goodson, Samuel Mitchell, Henry Bowyer, Edward McDonald and Alexander Lewis recommended as Magistrates for the County. Wm. Crow allowed 7 pounds for maintaining William Duncan to date. Wm. McClelon the same for keeping a Parish poor woman.
