Samuel Philips allowed pay for maintaining a foundling child for one year. Robert Shanklin granted leave to include his lands in one survey. Miles Terry fined 20 pounds for breach of the peace. Miles Terry imprisoned for 8 days and placed under bond for good behavior for 12 months and 1 day for insulting Samuel Eason, Gent., in the execution of his office as Magistrate. Samuel Woods appointed Constable, {succeeding John Glenn. Allen Cox exempted from payment of Parish and County levies on account of his age and infirmity. James Robinson appointed Constable, succeeding Edward McCallister. Pat Lockhart, Jacob Carper, Samuel McRoberts and Johnathan Newman appointed to view way from this Town to the Brunswick Iron Works. Wm. Bryant placed under bond for this good behavior for 1 year and 1 day. Ordered that John Showsbery examine ____ Craig, Jr., touching his capacity as a Surveyor. Reported duly qualified and took oath required by law. Cornelius Duval granted leave to turn the road between Mrs. Howard's and Augustine Hackwitb's as to him may appear most advisable to answer the public purposes. Wm. Campbell appointed guardian of Archibald Simpson, orphan of Wm. Simpson, decd. Henry, Wm., and David Wright securities. Wm. McClelan Granted leave to include his lands in one survey. John Johnston, same as next above. George Hannah, same as next above. Uriah Humphries, same as next above. Wm. McClintock recommended to his Excellency Pat Henry as a pensioner, he having been badly wounded at the Battle of Guilford. James Tosh appointed Constable, succeeding Jos. Richardson.
