William Hudson, charged with aiding and abetting horse thieves and receiving stolen goods, held for next grand jury. Christopher Husk, same charge, held for next grand jury. Elias McCreary, same charge, held for next grand jury. William Cherry, same charge, held for next grand jury. Margaret Husk, Nancy Cherry, same charge, acquitted. Richard Armstrong, same charge, acquitted. John Hudson, same charge, acquitted. John Johnston, Nicholas Welsh, Thomas Harris, Daniel Northrip, and Mary Allen bound as witnesses against Wm. Hudson, Wm. Hudson, Jr., Christopher Husk, Wm. Cherry, and Elias McCreary. Thomas Ferguson and Thomas Sowell, same as above. September 12, 1786. Sheriff ordered to employ some person to repair the prison of this County. William Scott appointed Surveyor of the Road. Fines imposed on Wm. Crawford for misbehaving are remitted. James Robinson and Samuel Mitchell took oaths of a Justice of the Peace. Richard Maxwell and Henry Bowyer, same as above. Edward McDonald, one of the Gentlemen named in the Commission of the Peace, came into Court and reported to act. Ordered that a road be established agreeable to report of Samuel Mitchell, Wm. Bilbro, and Michael Ocheltree round the field of John Kennedy. Leave granted Thomas Rowland to include lands in one survey. William Webb exempted from working on the road under Jacob Carper, Surveyor. Samuel Eason appointed to take oaths of tithables in Goodson's, Martin's, and his own Companies of Militia. James Barnett same in Capt. Lewis' Co. James Robinson, same in Graham's Co. Henry Pryor, same in Capt. May's Co. Robert Henry, same in Capt. Robinson's Co. Geo. Rutledge, same in Barnett's and Walters Companies. Joseph Looney, same in his own and Capt. Walker's Company. Mathew Willson, same in Capt. Mills' Co. Samuel Mitchell, same in Capt. Cartmill's Co. Geo. Skillern, same in Capt. Pryor's Company. Thomas Rowland, same in Capt. Smith's Company. Saml. Todd, same in the company lately Frazer's. John Baller, same in his own Co. Wm. McClenachan, same in Capt. Neelly's Co. Ordered that the Commissioners sell lands of the County to defray charges for building the prison. Sheriff ordered to declare what money is in his hands due to Charles Toolly allowed him for house purchased for use of the County, it appearing that too much was allowed him.
