James Smith allowed pay for 1 old wolf scalp. Wm. McMullen appointed Constable in Capt. Smith's Company. Joseph Paxton William's son recommended to the Governor as Captain in the Militia; John Moore, Jr., as Ensign. Jacob Harmon granted leave to keep an ordinary at his house in this Town. Patrick and John Peck securities. William Hill appointed Copt, in the Company lately commanded by Geo. Frazer; Joseph Simpson, Lieut., and Robert Galloway, Jr. Ensign. Samuel McClure appointed Captain, succeeding James Smith. Robert Harris appointed Ovorseer of the Rood, in place of Thomas Alderson. Henry Watterson took oath as Capt. of the Militia; Pat Lockhart as Major; Geo. Skillern Lieut.; Wm. McClenachan Lieut. Col., and Isaac Robinson Ensign, in Capt. Graham's Company. James Todd appointed Lieut, and Elisha Vinsandt Ensign in the Company formerly commanded by James Smith. February 14, 1787. Sheriff directed to advertise that at the next Court the County Levy will be levied and all claims against the County adjusted. Thomas Rowland, James Barnett and Samuel Eason, Gent., recommended to his Excellency Edmund Randolph, Governor of Virginia, as fit persons to execute the office of Sheriff in this County.
