Elijah Dickerson appointed Surveyor of the Road, succeeding Thomas Goodson, Jr. Rowland Madison and John Brooks appointed Surveyors of the Road, succeeding Robert Elliott. Robert Elliott, Joseph Kent, and Benjamin Craig ordered to view way proposed by Thos. Barnett for altering road. Dennis Callihan granted leave to retail goods as a merchant. Thomas King, same. Mathew Harvey, same. John McCreary, same. Andrew Lewis, same. Christopher Hayes, same. Philip Huff appointed Overseer of the Road, in place of Jesse Chamblin. Ordered that John Robinson, Geo. Rutledge, James Woods and Joseph Reaburne view the way proposed by John Henderson on Roan Oak to John Vanlier's Ford. Enoch Grimes appointed Constable in Capt. Goodson's Company. John Long same in Capt. Terry's Company. William Robinson, Jr., appointed Constable in the place of Joseph Reaburn. Edmund Green appointed Overseer of the Road in place of Henry Cartmill. Laurence Conner allowed 900 pounds as a pensioner. Moses Bennett appointed Overseer of the Road, in place of Hugh Allen. Thomas McCallister same, in place of James Robinson. Martin Beard, same in place of David May. Edward McColgum same, in place of Samuel Scott. Richard Shankin, same in place of Robert Hill Samuel Eason took the oath of a Capt., Henry Cartmill and Joseph Reaburne, Jr., the oaths of Lieutenants of the Militia. Philip Love, Joseph Mason, Samuel McElheney and Edward Handerson ordered to view way for wagon road from the Broad Ford in Roan Oak to the County line at John Norfsinger's on Maggdy Creek. James Poindexter took oath as Deputy Clerk of this County. James Woods, Gent. took oath of Commissioner of the Peace. Michael Ocheltree appointed Overseer of the road in place of James Carroll. Ordered that Alexander Simpson, Jesse Clark, James Sharkey and John Henderson view the way proposed by James Wright. Christian Vineyard allowed pay for flour and wheat furnished the Militia. William Davidson, Joseph Kent and Samuel Todd appointed Commissioners of the Tax. Michael Cocks granted leave to include lands in one survey.
