James Peary appointed Overseer of the Road, succeeding Robert Steel. Thos. McGeorge granted leave to build a grist mill on Catawba on his own land. Ordered that a road be established from the Trout Ford on Roanoak to the County line at Nofsinger's on Maggetry, and that Ethan Hanner and Saml. McElhenny be appointed surveyors thereof. Edward McDonald appointed Overseer of the Road. John Neelly appointed Overseer of the road in place of Toliver Craig. Ordered that Jane Savage, infant orphan of Mary Savage, be bound to Thos. Jordan. Ordered that Edward McDonald, Isaac Snodgrass, Peter Noffsinger and David McClenachan view the way proposed for a wagon road from Mrs. Breckinridge's to the Brunswick Iron Works. October 10, 1787. John Pryor took oath as Deputy Sheriff.
