On motion of Alexander Smyth, who acted with general approbation two years as Deputy Clerk of this Court, ordered the same be certified, and that, the said Alexander Smyth is a person of honest demeanor and unblemished character. March 10, 1788. David May resigned as Clerk of the Court, and Henry Bowyer was appointed to said office and took the required oath and gave bond with Francis Preston security. John Cummins placed under bond for good behavior. Ordered that the Wednesday following the Court Days in the months of April and May next be appointed for the Clerk to enter up the rules in his office.
