Capt. John Robinson, William Briant, Sr., and Thomas Goodson, Sr., were elected Overseers of the Poor. John Parsinger, Abraham Diem, Richard McCalister and Wm. Knox, ordered to view the way for altering the road proposed by Samuel Reese and David Reese. Isaac Taylor appointed Constable, in place of Henry Holaston. Isaac Carper appointed valurer of property taken on execution by the Sheriff, succeeding Saml. Kennerly, resigned. License granted Stephen Jett to keep a tavern at his house. Leave granted Nicholas Carper to build a grist mill over Mooneys Mill Creek. April 9, 1788. William Dewese appointed Overseer of the Road, succeeding Stephen Lee. William Taylor and Peter Dierly appointed Overseers of the Road from Fort Lewis to the upper ford on Roan Oak. Pension granted Florence Blair, wife of Samuel Blair, a soldier in the Continental Service, and Sargeant in the 12th Virginia Regiment, who died in the year 1788. Alexander Smyth appointed Deputy Clerk of this Court. Pension granted Matthew Amacks, wounded at the Battle of Guilford. License granted John McCreary to retail goods. William Scott, Leonard Shoemaker, Andrew Crawford, John Wilson, Josiah Crawford, Peter McCalister, Garland McCalister, Henry Gibson, George Wilson, James Wier, John Lackland, Bassel Harnet, Josiah Wilson, Patrick McCorkle and Richard McClure summoned to show cause why they should not be punished for contempt of court. April 21, 1788. Nathaniel Evans found guilty of numerous thefts and remanded to jail to await trial in the General Court.
