February 6, 1789.

    Matt, a Negro slave, property of Susanna Pryor, found guilty of misdemeanor
and court decreed that he be given 39 lashes on his bare back, well laid on.

February 10, 1789.

    William McDonald appointed Surveyor of the Road.

    Florence Blair, widow of Samuel Blair, deceased allowed pension.

    John Lapsley, a Lieut, in the Seventh Virginia Regiment allowed pension.

    Edward Willis bound to Thomas Westleak.

    Leave granted George Gordon to keep a tavern in this Town.

    James Breckenridge admitted to practice as an attorney.

    Leave granted James Robinson (Roan Oak) to build a mill on his own land.

    Richard McCalister appointed Surveyor of the Road.

    Nathan Switzer appointed Constable in Capt. May's Company.

    License granted Moses Rutter to keep an ordinary at his house.

    John Robbins appointed Constable.

    Samuel Crawford (Roan Oak) appointed Valuer of Property.

    Philip Skiphart, same.

    Robert McCown bound to John Cole.

    Matthew Amacks certified to the Governor as worthy to be continued as a
pensioner.
