May 12, 1789.

    The Grand Jury presented the following:

    Surveyor of the Road from Uriah Humphries' old place to the Cowpasture
River; surveyors of the road from Catawba Creek to Joshua Bean's Shop, for not
keeping roads in repair;

    William Crow for turning the road at his mill on Purgatory Creek;

    Surveyor of the Road from Anderson's ferry to Col. Geo. Skillern's for not
keeping same in repair.

    Isaac Snodgrass placed under bond for good behavior.

    Patrick Sharkey placed under bond to keep the peace, James Roberts and Hugh
Bowyer, securities.

    Leave granted James Shirley and Henry Lilly & Company to retail goods.


May 13, 1789.

    Uriah Humphries granted leave to retail goods.

    Edward Tate placed under bond for good behavior, James Trenor and Matthew
Coony securities.

    Leave granted Joseph Haynes to retail goods.

    Samuel Depew fined for leaving the jury in trial of a suit.
